MICROSOFT FLIGHT SIMULATOR
As part of my role as UX/UI Designer at Sprung Studios, I collaborated with Asobo Studio on the long-awaited Microsoft Flight Simulator. My focus was on refining the game’s existing systems, and identifying areas where we could make the most UX improvements in the time available.
MARKETPLACE
One of my core tasks was to redesign the real-money store from the ground up. The products for sale from both Microsoft and third-parties required a wide range of detailed information, covering the specifics of aircraft and locations.
The final system took inspiration from web design, online shopping experiences, and travel brochures to create modular screens for each product, celebrating the beauty of the game, without overwhelming players with the amount of information each page required.
Accessibility
I also worked to improve the overall accessibility of the game, both in the range of options available to the player, and in those settings’ application to some particularly information-dense screens.
This included minimum font size scaling, panel opacity to aid contrast and legibility, and exploring options for UI scaling.
